DAY 1 / SATURDAY:
Arrival in Bogotá
Welcome to Colombia, a country of extraordinary diversity where the Amazon, the Andes, the Pacific, and the Caribbean converge to create unique experiences. Upon your arrival at Bogotá International Airport, we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.
Depending on your arrival time, you'll have free time to relax or begin exploring Colombia's vibrant capital. Bogotá blends history, culture, and modernity in a city full of contrasts, with charming colonial neighborhoods, internationally renowned museums, local markets, and a diverse culinary scene. This will be your first glimpse into a fascinating country that will accompany you throughout this adventure.
DAY 2 / SUNDAY:
Historic Bogotá and Monserrate Hill
After breakfast, we will begin our exploration of Colombia’s vibrant capital with a cable car ride to the iconic Monserrate Hill, one of Bogotá’s most famous landmarks. Rising more than 3,100 metres above sea level, it offers breathtaking panoramic views over the city. There will be time to soak up the traditional atmosphere, browse local handicraft stalls, and sample regional specialties such as aromatic coca tea or the traditional warm drink, canelazo.
We will then continue to Bogotá’s historic centre to discover the city’s remarkable cultural heritage. Our first stop will be the renowned Gold Museum, considered one of the most important museums in Latin America and home to the world's largest collection of pre-Hispanic gold artefacts. Afterwards, we will visit the Botero Museum, which houses an outstanding collection of works by Colombia’s most celebrated artist, Fernando Botero, alongside masterpieces by internationally acclaimed painters.
The tour continues with a leisurely walk through Plaza Bolívar, the political and historical heart of Colombia, before exploring the charming cobbled streets of the colonial district of La Candelaria. Its colourful façades, centuries-old churches, cosy cafés, and art galleries create one of the most enchanting atmospheres in South America.
To conclude the day, we recommend enjoying Colombia’s outstanding cuisine at one of the traditional restaurants in the historic centre, where you can savour local specialties such as the famous ajiaco santafereño, traditional tamales, or refreshing juices prepared from exotic tropical fruits.
