Day 1: Arrival in Mexico City
Welcome to Mexico, a country where ancient history, living traditions, and modernity coexist in a fascinating way. Upon your arrival at Mexico City Airport, we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you will have free time to begin exploring the Mexican capital, considered one of the largest and most interesting cities in the world. Its plazas, markets, cafes, and historic buildings offer a first glimpse into the rich culture that will accompany us throughout our trip.
Day 2: Mexico City and Frida Kahlo's Blue House
We'll begin our adventure by discovering the most iconic corners of fascinating Mexico City, one of the world's largest and most vibrant metropolises. We'll explore its impressive Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where plazas, palaces, and monuments will transport us through centuries of history, from the splendor of pre-Hispanic civilizations to the colonial era.
Later, we'll head to the charming Coyoacán neighborhood, an oasis of tranquility and tradition that preserves the spirit of authentic Mexico. Its cobblestone streets, lively plazas, colorful facades, and bohemian atmosphere invite you to stroll leisurely and savor every corner.
Here we will visit the iconic Blue House, home of the celebrated artist Frida Kahlo. Through her personal belongings, works of art, and intimate spaces, we will discover the fascinating story of a woman who transcended borders to become one of Mexico's greatest cultural icons.
The day will end enjoying the unique atmosphere of Coyoacán, among handicrafts, traditional cafes and the aromas of Mexican gastronomy, a perfect experience to begin discovering the cultural richness of the country.
Day 3: Teotihuacan and Puebla
In the morning, we will begin our journey to Teotihuacan, the legendary City of the Gods, one of the most impressive archaeological sites in the Americas. This ancient metropolis, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, was once one of the largest and most influential cities of the ancient world and still envelops its visitors in an atmosphere of mystery and grandeur.
We will explore the iconic Avenue of the Dead while admiring the imposing Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, timeless symbols of a civilization whose origin and disappearance continue to fascinate archaeologists and historians. Our guide will reveal the secrets, legends, and knowledge that made Teotihuacan one of the most important ceremonial centers in Mesoamerica.
After this unforgettable visit, we'll continue to Puebla, considered one of Mexico's most beautiful colonial cities. Its elegant Baroque churches, colorful facades adorned with Talavera tiles, and magnificent historic center will transport us back to the viceroyalty era. Strolling through its streets is to discover a city brimming with history, art, traditions, and one of the country's most renowned cuisines.
Day 4: Puebla, Cholula
After breakfast, we'll spend the morning discovering the charms of Puebla, considered one of Mexico's most beautiful colonial cities. Its magnificent historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, captivates with its elegant buildings, baroque churches, lively plazas, and colorful facades decorated with the famous Talavera tiles, a symbol of Puebla's identity.
Next, we'll head to Cholula, one of the most amazing and iconic places in the country. This ancient sacred city was for centuries an important ceremonial center of Mesoamerica and is home to the largest pyramid in the world by volume. Although today it looks like a hill covered in vegetation, beneath it lies a gigantic structure built by different pre-Hispanic cultures over hundreds of years.
We will ascend to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies, erected by the Spanish conquistadors atop the ancient pyramid, a place that symbolizes the meeting of two worlds. From this privileged viewpoint, we will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Puebla Valley and, weather permitting, contemplate the majestic Popocatépetl, Iztaccíhuatl, and La Malinche volcanoes dominating the horizon.
Cholula is a unique destination where indigenous heritage and colonial legacy coexist. Its tranquil streets, colorful plazas, traditional markets, and numerous churches create a special atmosphere that invites you to travel back in time and discover one of the most fascinating chapters in Mexican history.
Day 5: From Puebla to Oaxaca
After our visit to Puebla and Cholula, we'll embark on one of the most spectacular and authentic routes of the entire trip. We'll leave behind the fertile valleys guarded by the imposing Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes to venture into the mountainous landscapes of southern Mexico, where a region steeped in history, tradition, and natural beauty begins.
As we travel along the winding roads of the Sierra Madre, the landscape constantly transforms. Vast agricultural fields give way to pine and oak forests, deep canyons, small rural villages, and panoramic views that invite contemplation of the immensity of this land. Far from the most crowded tourist routes, we will discover an authentic Mexico, where ancestral customs continue to be part of daily life.
During the tour, our guide will share stories and interesting facts about the ancient civilizations that flourished in these lands, as well as about the indigenous communities that still preserve their languages, traditions and a deep connection with their roots.

Day 6: Hierve el Agua, Mitla and Teotitlán del Valle
Today we will delve into some of the most spectacular and authentic landscapes of the state of Oaxaca, a region where nature, history and ancestral traditions intertwine in a unique way.
Our first stop will be Hierve el Agua, one of Mexico's most stunning natural treasures. This extraordinary geological phenomenon, formed by petrified waterfalls created over thousands of years by mineral-rich waters, seems frozen in time. From its breathtaking viewpoints, we'll enjoy unforgettable panoramic views of the Sierra Madre mountains and valleys, in an environment of great beauty and serenity.
We will continue to Mitla, the ancient sacred city of the Zapotecs and one of the most important ceremonial centers in Oaxaca. Unlike other archaeological sites in Mexico, Mitla stands out for its elegant palaces decorated with intricate geometric stone mosaics, considered unique in all of Mesoamerica. This place, whose name means "Place of the Dead," holds profound spiritual symbolism and will allow us to explore the worldview of pre-Hispanic cultures.
We will end the day in Teotitlán del Valle, an indigenous community renowned for preserving one of Oaxaca's most valuable artisanal traditions. Here, we will learn about the process of creating the famous handwoven textiles, using techniques passed down through generations since pre-Hispanic times. We will discover how natural dyes are obtained and how artisans transform wool into authentic works of art full of color, history, and meaning.
A fascinating day that combines unforgettable landscapes, ancestral legacy and the encounter with the living traditions of Oaxaca.
Day 7: From Monte Albán to Tehuantepec
In the morning we will visit Monte Albán, one of Mexico's most impressive archaeological treasures and the ancient capital of the Zapotec civilization. Built atop a mountain more than 400 meters above the Oaxaca Valley, this extraordinary ceremonial city offers not only a valuable historical legacy but also some of the most spectacular views in the region.
We will explore its vast ceremonial plazas, temples, astronomical observatories, and ancient tombs as we uncover the history of one of Mesoamerica's most advanced cultures. Our guide will help us understand how the Zapotecs managed to build a great city in such a unique location and how they developed complex knowledge of astronomy, architecture, and social organization that allowed them to dominate the region for centuries.
From different points of the site we will enjoy magnificent panoramic views over the Central Valleys of Oaxaca, a landscape that has remained virtually unchanged since pre-Hispanic times.
In the afternoon, we'll continue our journey to Tehuantepec, passing through rural landscapes full of contrasts, small traditional communities, and areas rarely visited by international tourists. It will be an excellent opportunity to experience the most authentic side of Mexico as we approach the Isthmus of Tehuantepec region, a land rich in traditions, indigenous culture, and a unique identity within the country.
Day 8: Sumidero Canyon and San Cristóbal de las Casas
Today we will delve into the fascinating state of Chiapas, a land of lush nature, ancient traditions and landscapes that are among the most spectacular in Mexico.
Our first major experience will be a boat trip through the breathtaking Sumidero Canyon, one of the country's most iconic natural wonders. Aboard a motorboat, we'll explore this majestic gorge, whose vertical walls rise in some places to over a thousand meters above the Grijalva River. During the journey, we'll admire rock formations of astonishing shapes, seasonal waterfalls, and lush tropical vegetation that blankets the canyon's slopes.
The natural richness of this protected environment will also give us the opportunity to observe some of its wildlife, including crocodiles sunbathing on the banks, monkeys, water birds and numerous species that inhabit this extraordinary ecosystem.
After this unforgettable experience, we will continue our journey to San Cristóbal de las Casas, considered one of the most beautiful and captivating cities in Mexico. Located in the heart of the Chiapas mountains, this charming colonial city seduces visitors with its cobblestone streets, colorful facades, artisan markets, historic churches, and a unique atmosphere where indigenous traditions and colonial heritage coexist.
Upon arrival, we will have time to enjoy its bohemian and multicultural atmosphere, stroll through its lively squares and begin to discover the soul of Chiapas in one of the most special and authentic destinations in the entire country.
Day 9: San Cristóbal & San Juan Chamula and indigenous communities
Immerse yourself in the indigenous heart of Chiapas and discover one of Mexico's most authentic and captivating regions. Stroll through the charming cobblestone streets of San Cristóbal de las Casas, a colonial city nestled in the mountains, known for its colorful facades, artisan markets, and bohemian atmosphere.
The experience continues in San Juan Chamula, a Tzotzil Maya village where ancient ancestral traditions remain alive. Visit its unique church, a place steeped in mysticism where indigenous ceremonies blend with elements of Catholicism in a unique and captivating atmosphere. Amidst candles, flowers, prayers, and traditional rituals, you will discover one of Mexico's most authentic cultural expressions.

Day 10: Agua Azul, Misol-Há and Palenque
Today we'll venture into the heart of the Chiapas jungle to discover some of the most breathtaking and photogenic natural landscapes in all of Mexico. It will be a day surrounded by lush vegetation, crystal-clear rivers, and waterfalls that look like they've been plucked straight from a tropical paradise.
Our first stop will be at the famous Agua Azul waterfalls, one of Chiapas' greatest natural treasures. Here, the mineral-rich waters create turquoise hues that contrast spectacularly with the intense green of the jungle. We'll walk along the river to admire the succession of waterfalls, rapids, and natural pools that stretch for several kilometers, creating a landscape of extraordinary beauty.
We will continue to Misol-Há, an impressive waterfall over thirty meters high that plunges through lush tropical vegetation, forming a magnificent curtain of water. The jungle setting, the constant sound of the waterfall, and the cool mist that envelops the area create a magical and relaxing atmosphere. Those who wish can walk along the path that passes behind the waterfall and enjoy a unique perspective of this spectacular natural wonder.
At the end of the day, we'll arrive in Palenque, gateway to one of the most fascinating Mayan cities in Mesoamerica. Surrounded by the tropical rainforest, we'll begin to feel the magic of this legendary place that awaits us the following day.
Day 11: Yaxchilan: the mystery of the Usumacinta
Today we will experience one of the most authentic and exciting moments of the entire trip. Very early, we will depart from Palenque towards the Lacandon Jungle to discover Yaxchilan, one of the most enigmatic and best-preserved Mayan cities in Mexico.
The adventure begins with a boat trip along the majestic Usumacinta River, the natural border between Mexico and Guatemala. We'll navigate through virtually untouched jungle landscapes, where it's not uncommon to see exotic birds, monkeys, and the lush vegetation that dominates this remote region.
After disembarking, we'll venture into the jungle to explore Yaxchilán, an ancient Mayan city hidden among towering trees and surrounded by the sounds of nature. For centuries it remained isolated from the modern world, allowing it to retain much of its original atmosphere. We'll explore temples, ceremonial plazas, stelae, and buildings adorned with some of the most extraordinary reliefs and sculptures of the Mayan world. Our guide will reveal the history of the powerful rulers who transformed Yaxchilán into one of the most important political centers in the region.
The combination of archaeology, pristine jungle, and river navigation makes this excursion a true expedition to the heart of the Mayan world. After the visit, we'll begin our return to Palenque, arriving in the late afternoon with unforgettable memories of one of Mexico's best-kept secrets.
Day 12: Palenque and Campeche
In the morning we will discover Palenque, one of the most fascinating and spectacular archaeological cities of the Mayan world. Hidden for centuries by the lush tropical rainforest of Chiapas, this ancient metropolis surprises with the elegance of its architecture, the richness of its sculptures, and the extraordinary state of preservation of its monuments.
As we explore its ceremonial plazas and temples, surrounded by the sounds of the jungle, we will learn the story of the legendary King Pakal the Great, one of the most important rulers of the Mayan civilization. We will visit some of the most emblematic buildings of the site, including the majestic Temple of the Inscriptions, where Pakal's famous tomb was discovered, considered one of the most important archaeological finds in the Americas.
The unique atmosphere of Palenque, where nature and history merge in perfect harmony, makes this visit an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of the trip.
After the visit, we will continue our journey to Campeche, a charming colonial city located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Campeche will welcome us with its colorful facades, quiet cobblestone streets, and historic walls, built to protect the city from pirate attacks that sailed these coasts centuries ago.
Day 13. From Campeche to Uxmal and Mérida
We'll begin the day exploring the charming streets of Campeche, one of Mexico's most beautiful and best-preserved colonial cities. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this historic port city captivates with its colorful facades, vibrant plazas, and ancient walls built to protect it from pirate and privateer attacks. A stroll through its historic center is like stepping back in time to when Campeche was one of the most important ports on the Gulf of Mexico.
Afterwards, we will head towards Uxmal, considered by many to be the most elegant Mayan city in all of Mesoamerica and a true masterpiece of pre-Hispanic architecture. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Uxmal stands out for the perfection of its proportions, the harmony of its buildings, and the extraordinary richness of its sculptural decorations.
Unlike other Mayan cities hidden deep in the jungle, Uxmal emerges majestically amidst the rolling hills and landscapes characteristic of the Yucatán Peninsula. Its serene and monumental atmosphere makes it easy to imagine the splendor it attained between the 7th and 10th centuries, when it became one of the most important political, religious, and astronomical centers of the Mayan world.
During our visit, we will admire the spectacular Pyramid of the Magician, a unique structure in the Mayan world due to its oval shape and the fascinating legends surrounding it. According to local tradition, it was built in a single night by a mysterious dwarf endowed with supernatural powers. We will continue to the impressive Nunnery Quadrangle, considered one of the masterpieces of Mayan architecture, whose facades are decorated with thousands of delicate stone mosaics and representations of the god Chaac, lord of rain and an essential figure for the ancient communities of the region.
We will also visit the magnificent Governor's Palace, considered one of the most refined constructions in all of pre-Columbian America. Its intricate reliefs, astronomical symbols, and sophisticated architectural details reflect the extraordinary level of mathematical, artistic, and cosmological knowledge achieved by the Mayan civilization.
At the end of our visit, we will continue to Mérida, the elegant capital of Yucatán, known as the White City. We'll stroll through its streets to discover the charm of one of Mexico's most pleasant cities, considered the cultural heart of contemporary Yucatán. Day 14: Chichen Itza and Playa del Carmen
Today we will visit one of Mexico's most extraordinary and iconic sites: Chichen Itza, one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World and the most famous jewel of the Mayan civilization. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this impressive ceremonial city was for centuries one of the main political, religious, and scientific centers of Mesoamerica, and continues to captivate travelers from all over the world with its majesty and mystery.
During our visit, we will explore this fascinating archaeological complex while discovering the history, knowledge, and beliefs of one of the most advanced civilizations in the Americas. The star attraction will be the spectacular Pyramid of Kukulkan, the undisputed symbol of Chichen Itza and a true masterpiece of ancient engineering. Every detail of this structure reflects the extraordinary mastery the Maya achieved in astronomy, mathematics, and the observation of natural cycles. Its design is closely linked to the sacred calendar and astronomical phenomena that continue to amaze scientists and visitors alike.
We will also visit the Great Ballcourt, the largest in all of Mesoamerica, where ceremonies and competitions of profound religious significance were held. Its monumental dimensions and extraordinary acoustics make this space one of the most impressive structures in the complex.

Gradually, the landscape will give way to the turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean until we reach Playa del Carmen, where we'll be welcomed by white-sand beaches, the relaxed atmosphere of the Riviera Maya, and the perfect ending to an unforgettable adventure through Mexico's cultural and natural treasures.
Day 15: Playa del Carmen
A free day to enjoy the Mexican Caribbean. You can relax on its white-sand beaches, swim in crystal-clear waters, visit cenotes, or simply stroll along the lively Fifth Avenue. After days filled with culture, archaeology, and nature, this will be the perfect time to unwind and enjoy this tropical paradise.
Day 16: Return
Transfer to the airport and return flight. We'll say goodbye to Mexico with the memory of an extraordinary experience that combines history, archaeology, ancestral traditions, lush nature, and one of the country's most exciting cultural events: Day of the Dead. 🇲🇽✨🕯️🌼
